TL Board Begins Search for New CEO

Categories: News

Laura Patel, MD has informed the Transitions LifeCare Board of Directors that she is resigning her position as CEO/CMO effective June 21, 2024 to relocate with her family to Minnesota. On behalf of the Board, I am expressing our deepest gratitude to Dr. Patel for her longstanding commitment and contributions to this organization. After initially serving as the Transitions CMO from 2013–2022, Dr. Patel was appointed by the Board of Directors to her current position as CEO/CMO in 2022. During her tenure in this role, Dr. Patel was successful in guiding Transitions through the unforeseen and unprecedented challenges wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining the excellence of our core services, and setting into place a solid foundation on which her successor will build.

The 22-member Transitions LifeCare Board of Directors is responsible for the search process and hiring of Dr. Patel’s successor, a process that is underway. We are committed to ensuring a thriving future for Transitions, and thus are seeking a strong and experienced leader who shares our vision and dedication to our mission. We have assembled a search committee that has set into place the process by which we will seek, interview, and ultimately select Transitions LifeCare’s next CEO.

Again, the Board and I are very thankful for Dr. Patel’s passionate dedication and effective leadership over the past decade in her work at Transitions LifeCare. We wish her and her family much happiness and success as they embark on the next phase of their life together. Please take a moment to read her words below.

Adam Wolk, MD
President, Transitions LifeCare Board of Directors

In stepping into the role of CEO in 2022, my intent was to remain with the organization for many years to come. However, a shift in my family’s needs has led to an upcoming move back to my home state of Minnesota. I am passionate about the mission and vision of Transitions LifeCare and believe in the importance and the strong future of this organization. I am proud of the accomplishments we have achieved together over the last 10+ years, first as Chief Medical Officer, and later as CEO. Transitions LifeCare is a very special organization with exceptionally committed staff and I am confident that under our capable team and Board, Transitions LifeCare will continue to thrive and positively impact the lives of those we serve.
